7 Days Gorillas, Chimps and Tree climbing Lions Experience

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. 

Today, the journey takes you to Kibale Forest National park the drive is incredibly scenic, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. 

Kibale Forest National Park is located in west-central Uganda just east of the Rwenzori Mountains, near the town of Fort Portal. The 766 Km² Park predominantly covers evergreen rain forest and ranges between 1100 and 1600m in elevation. Kibale Forest is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests and forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth national park.

You will have lunch in fort portal after, then you will proceed to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park  

   

This morning after breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters to join other trackers for a briefing and after you will be taken for chimpanzee tracking, through Kibale Forest National Park. During this walk, you will have chances of seeing many of the 13 primate species native to Kibale Forest National Park. After lunch, you will drive to Bigodi for a swamp walk, community visits and coffee making experience. This wetland belongs to community neighboring the park.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park  

  

This morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in time for Lunch at the lodge and game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if lucky, some wild cats such as lions and leopards.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park  

Early morning breakfast and go for the game drive, you will be able to see many animals including the giraffes, elephants, warthogs, kobs, the famous cats, the lions if you are lucky, at that time of the morning they are from hunting.  

Go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel that departs at 3pm. The launch exposes you to counts of hippos, crocodiles, birds and a range of wild game quenching their thirst on the channel side. You will retire from the 2-hour boat ride to have an evening game drive as you make way to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park through Ishasha sector.  

  

After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through Ishasha sector to look for the tree climbing Lions. This is an amazing experience and then Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South Western Uganda. This journey takes you through the green rolling hills of Uganda with banana and tea plantations and good scenic views. Lunch will be served at a selected restaurant and you will arrive in Bwindi in the evening.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking experience  

  

Early morning, breakfast with your packed lunch, you will report to the park headquarters for registration and join other trackers in a briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking at 7:45 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you half an hour to three-quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. A lifetime experience, a Safari like no other.

Optional Activities:  

Batwa Trail: During this moving tour, the Batwa demonstrate hunting techniques; gather honey; point out medicinal plants and demonstrate how to make bamboo cups.  

Guests are then invited to the sacred Ngarama Cave, once home to the Batwa King to be entertained by traditional music and dance.  

Village Walk: Overlooking the imposing hillsides of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, with the mist swirling over the summits, this is one of the most dramatic settings for your cultural tour! Among others, meet a traditional healer, who not only treats the sick, but uses his knowledge to conserve and educate about the various medicinal plants.

  

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe

Have morning breakfast and transfer to Entebbe with lunch enroute. You could engage in some activities like nature walk or visiting the Batwa community (optional) before you transfer to Entebbe. On your way to Entebbe, you will stop at the Uganda equator for souvenir shopping and an experiment, you will be able to stand at the North pole and the south pole.

Transport  

You will use a minivan for midrange clients with popup roof for easy safari viewing. All passengers will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional and courteous driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.

The deposit is fully refunded if the booking is canceled up to 45 days before arrival.
